Q. Do I have to be a blood donor in order to get the COVID-19 antibody test?
A. Yes. The test is only performed when a complete blood donation is given, whether you are a new or returning Versiti blood donor. It will be performed for all types of blood donations, including: whole blood, platelet, double red cell, and plasma
Q. Can I donate if I take medications?
A. Most medications will not defer you from donating blood. Before you make an appointment, however, check our medication deferral list.
If you are currently taking antibiotics for an infection, you will be eligible to donate two days after your course of treatment is complete.
Q. Do I need to bring any forms of ID to my appointment?
A. Yes. The following forms of identification with a photo and birth date are acceptable:
- Driver’s license
- State-issued ID
- Student ID card
- Passport, visa or green card
