Another Kind of Life
As followers of Christ, our lives are filled with invitations. We are invited to pray and read scripture. We are invited to share our faith and serve those in need. We are invited to worship and invest in our churches. This activity is good and absolutely necessary. However, if we are not careful our activity leaves us tired and worn out, but the invitation of Jesus is not to a life of burnout and over activity.
Instead, Jesus says, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matthew 11:28-30 The Message)
At this one-day conference, Renovaré teachers Carolyn Arends and Chris Hall will introduce us to Another Kind of Life. We will explore truths and practices designed to help us keep company with Jesus and learn the unforced rhythms of grace. How might we live freely and lightly, so our activity in the world overflows from a Christ-centered heart? If you have ever felt tired, worn-out, burned out on religion, this day is for you.
