Legal Aid CLE: Public vs. Private Prisons--The Justice Debate
The debate on whether to privatize prisons is sweeping across our country, but what are the inherent dangers of creating a profit-driven criminal justice system? Do private prisons inflict penalties on people that the courts did not impose? Guest speaker and attorney, John Dacey, has studied this issue at length and is part of a movement to present this case to the Supreme Court. Learn about criminal justice reform, constitutional and civil rights which are at risk.
All our welcome to attend. Attorneys may receive 1.5 hours of CLE credit and will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the session.
